Cinema of Horrors Haunted House returns to Kelso on September 25 for its 10th season, transforming a former movie theater into an immersive Halloween destination featuring multiple haunted attractions, live performers, theatrical sets, special effects and an outdoor scare zone.

The anniversary season comes with national recognition. Cinema of Horrors has been certified as a 2026 Top Haunt by the Haunted Attraction Association (HAA), earning Gold status as one of only 10 attractions nationwide recognized in the category. The Haunted Attraction Association recognizes attractions demonstrating excellence in safety, education and operations. Cinema of Horrors is among just 74 haunted attractions across the United States receiving Top Haunt recognition for 2026.

This year we wanted to celebrate that milestone by creating entirely new environments and continuing to raise the bar for the experience.”

Two All-New Attractions for 2026: The 2026 season introduces Bloodstone Gulch, a western-vampire attraction set inside a once-booming mining town where the residents have discovered something far more dangerous than the outlaws who once ruled its streets. Guests will journey through the town’s Main Street, saloon, hotel, courthouse, holding cells and other environments as the dark story of Bloodstone Gulch unfolds around them. Also debuting is Bunker 13, which sends guests into a deteriorating military installation where warning systems, industrial environments and disturbing discoveries suggest that whatever happened inside the facility was never meant to escape. Both attractions were developed specifically for the 10th anniversary season with new scenic environments, characters and storylines.

Horror Inside a Former Movie Theater: Cinema of Horrors is housed inside a former multiplex movie theater in Kelso, allowing individual auditoriums to be transformed into large-scale walk-through attractions filled with constructed rooms, theatrical lighting, sound, effects and live characters. Guests enter a former cinema, but instead of watching the horror unfold on screen, they walk directly into it.

Cinema of Horrors draws Halloween fans from throughout Southwest Washington, the Portland metropolitan area and communities across the Pacific Northwest, bringing additional visitors to the Kelso-Longview area throughout the Halloween season.
